The Boyle Heights Historical Society is up and running!
In early 2005, a group of iq option India dedicated community residents began
meeting with experienced archivists and historians to organize events and
raise awareness of the rich heritage of Boyle Heights. In 2006, an interim
board of directors was formed. These volunteers have labored to create the
foundation of an organization devoted to the history of Boyle Heights.
The new Boyle Heights Historical Society (BHHS) is a
membership-based non-profit organization whose mission is to engage the
public's interest to collect, preserve, appreciate and share knowledge
relevant to the diverse social, ethnic, cultural, geographic and
architectural heritage of Boyle Heights within its regional context.
The BHHS was incorporated by the state of California on 31 Aug 2006.
Bylaws were adopted by the board of directors on 15 Oct 2006. IRS 501(c)(3)
status is pending. Committees are forming. Events and activities are in the
planning stages.
BHHS Membership is now open!
If you have an interest in the heritage of Boyle Heights, please
consider becoming a member of the BHHS. The BHHS is only as strong as its
members. We need you! Please print out the membership form and send it
along with your check to our post office box.
If you have a particular historical interest, are curious about
architectural preservation, want to learn more about your community, or
have a suggestion about possible activities, please note your interests on
the form and consider volunteering for one of the committees.
